Asst. Prof. Dr. Nada Sami Nassir, Dean of the College of Education at Sawa University, participates as a member of the defense committee for a master’s thesis titled "Syntactic Rank and Contextual Requirements According to Al-Radi al-Astarabadi in His Commentary on Al-Kafiyah by Ibn al-Hajib." The thesis was presented by researcher Asmaa Khudair Abbas in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education, University of Al-Qadisiyah, on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The thesis explored the relationship between syntactic rank (word order) and contextual requirements as understood by Al-Radi al-Astarabadi. It examined the impact of word placement, specifically fronting and delaying on shaping meaning, as well as the grammatical and semantic principles that govern the arrangement of words within a linguistic context.
The thesis was approved with a grade of "Very Good "
This participation is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation among Iraqi universities and to facilitate the exchange of research expertise, thereby supporting the advancement of scholarly pursuits.
