Types of Paragraphs in English Language Research


 

In implementation of the curriculum prepared by the Deanship of the College of Education, the Department of English, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, held a scientific symposium entitled (The Types of Paragraph in English Language Research), at exactly ten o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, 24/12/2024, in which the following participated:

1- Asst. Lect. Fahd Wali Shiyal - Chairman.

2- Asst. Lect. Jaleel Jumaa Marih - Lecturer.

3- Asst. Lect. Alaa Raheem Farhan - Rapporteur.

The seminar shed light on how to write paragraphs in English as one of the factors in writing mini-research, how to write a narrative paragraph, a descriptive paragraph, and stopped at the explanatory paragraph, and how to write a persuasive paragraph, indicating that there are five facts that will help the researcher in writing these paragraphs, which are: (There is no 'ideal' length for a paragraph, good thesis paragraphs contain a title sentence, discourse markers can be used at the beginning of paragraphs to help readers understand the function, repetition in a paragraph may help make it seem more coherent, repetition between paragraphs may have a strong effect).
