In implementation of the curriculum prepared by our university on the occasion of the International Week for Preventing Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism, the English Department—in cooperation with the Sunni Endowment Office in the governorate and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division—organized an educational seminar titled Combating Terrorism and Extremism.

The seminar addressed the concept of violent extremism conducive to terrorism, emphasizing that violent extremism undermines the values that bind societies together. Combating it requires adopting a comprehensive approach to ensure sustainable community-based solutions, as well as addressing the factors that contribute to economic marginalization and inequality. Furthermore, providing support through mental health programs and livelihood opportunities serves as a key strategy to fortify individuals against the dangers of violent extremism.
