As part of the series of seminars approved by our university presidency on the occasion of the Week Against Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism, the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education—in cooperation with the Student Activities Department and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division—organized a scientific and educational seminar titled The Role of Educational Institutions in Combating Intellectual Extremism Leading to Violence.

The seminar emphasized that intellectual extremism poses a real threat to the stability and cohesion of societies, as it leads to societal divisions that harm relationships between individuals and groups. It fosters an environment of hatred and violence that can yield catastrophic consequences for society both now and in the future.
Furthermore, the seminar highlighted that educational institutions can contribute significantly to promoting moderate ideas, tolerance, and human values—the bedrock of a cohesive society—through curricula focused on respecting others and fostering tolerance. This equips students with a greater capacity to embrace cultural and intellectual diversity. This role extends beyond academic education to building conscious, balanced personalities by instilling positive values that reject extremism in all its forms.
