In implementation of the curriculum prepared by the Deanship of the College of Education, the Computer Science Department—in cooperation with the Student Activities Department and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division—organized a scientific symposium titled The State of Human Future in John Osborne's play Look Back in Anger at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 3, 2025.
The symposium featured the participation of:
-
Assistant Lecturer Shaimaa Hassan Matrood – Chair
-
Lecturer Dr. Fahem Jafat Salman – Speaker
-
Assistant Lecturer Alaa Rahim Farhan – Rapporteur
The symposium reviewed the pessimism of European individuals regarding their future due to the aftermath of war. It highlighted how people began looking back at the past with nostalgia after losing many core values, leaving their lives feeling materialistic and futile. This situation prompted writers to depict the condition of society and the bleak future facing European communities, illustrating how wars leave behind widespread destruction and ruin for societies.
