The Medical Instrumentation Techniques Department at the Technical Engineering College—in cooperation with the Community Police Directorate of the Governorate Police Command, as well as the Human Rights Division and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division at our university—organized a scientific symposium titled Intellectual Terrorism: Types and Strategies for Immunization at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

The symposium emphasized that intellectual terrorism is an ideology rooted in the rejection and disrespect of differing opinions, depriving individuals of their right to freedom of expression and belief. It restricts minds and freedoms, preventing self-expression under the pretext of contradicting a specific culture, sect, doctrine, or viewpoint. Intellectual terrorism encompasses various concepts, such as fanaticism, extremism, and takfir, as well as a disregard for heritage, history, and civilization.
At the conclusion of the symposium, a set of recommendations was proposed to fortify the minds and thinking of young people through enlightened, moderate thought that fosters love and rejects fanaticism and extremism.
