Under the auspices of the respected Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Mudhar Abdullah Al-Zalimi, and the guidance of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Aqeel Sarhan Muhammad, the College of Education and the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at our university, in cooperation with Al-Muthanna University, held a scientific symposium on (Antiquities are a great national wealth that must be preserved), at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday 5/15/2023.
Professor Dr. Naeem Safar Al-Zaidi, a lecturer at the College of Human Education, Al-Muthanna University lectured, and the session was chaired by Assistant Lecturer Janan Shihab Hamed, a teacher at the College of Education at our university.
The lecturer stressed that the antiquities are of great historical value, just as the origins of each artifact go back hundreds of years, and the older the thing is, the greater the material value of it, the antiquities piece is evidence of the history of our great country, and also introduces us to the history of our ancestors, so that we know how the ancients used to think and add to them, learn and develop, because he who does not have a past does not have a present and future, so we must preserve it, and among the methods of preserving it (forming a group of volunteers, offering tours, hosting special events, submitting a nomination to the list of endangered places conducting community workshops, educating participants in the decision-making process, evaluating archaeological properties, and following up on the inclusion of the National Register or the Local Historical Classification).
