Under the auspices of the respected Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Mudhar Abdullah Al-Zalimi, and the guidance of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Sarhan Muhammad, the College of Education, in cooperation with the Division of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, held a scientific symposium entitled (Domestic Violence. Its causes, effects, and how to confront it?) Lecturers at this symposium are:
- Assistant Lecturer, Janan Shehab Hamed – Teacher of Psychology in the English Language Department – as a head.
- Brigadier General Ali Ajami Rasool Al-Ramahi - Director of the Community Police at the Governorate Police Command. - Lecturer.
Assistant Lecturer Afrah Sofi Abdel-Hussein - Lecturer of the English Language Department - Rapporteur.
The lecturer emphasized that domestic violence, which is also known as family or marital abuse, has several forms, including physical abuse, or psychological threat such as sexual or emotional abuse, control, tyranny, intimidation, or stalking and stalking. Or hidden negative aggression such as neglect or economic deprivation, and for the procedures to get rid of this phenomenon, take preventive measures, including preventing its spread in society, and preserving family cohesion, including: preparing awareness programs, legal prevention by knowing the laws and legislation related to fighting it, then procedural prevention by knowing the ways to access protection services after exposure to violence and methods of correct reporting.
