In implementation of the curriculum prepared by the Dean's Office of the College of Education at our university, the Department of Qur'anic Sciences and Islamic Education—in cooperation with the Departments of Student Activities and University Psychological Guidance—organized an intellectual seminar titled "Reflections on the Verses of Challenge (Ayat Al-Tahaddi) in the Holy Qur'an" at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 20, 2025. The seminar featured the participation of:
-
Lecturer Dr. Qutaiba Adnan Shaker – Chair
-
Associate Professor Dr. Muslim Shaker Jabr – Speaker
-
Assistant Lecturer Zainab Atheer Hamza – Rapporteur
The seminar outlined the progressive stages of divine challenge presented in the Holy Qur'an, highlighting its multifaceted aspects of inimitability (I'jaz), including its linguistic eloquence, legislative wisdom, and cosmic scientific insights. Participants emphasized that this inimitability stands as an undeniable truth that demands acknowledgment from both Arabs and non-Arabs alike, demonstrating human incapacity to match its divine nature. The session concluded that this ongoing challenge remains relevant until the Day of Judgment, directed at disbelievers and those who doubt the divine origin of the Qur'an or the prophetic mission of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), ultimately confirming the Qur'an as the word of God and His Messenger as the true bearer of divine revelation.
