The workshop focused on the critical protocols for blood processing prior to patient transfusion. It highlighted that each blood unit must be individually labeled and documented with precise details, including the infusion date, time, and indication for transfusion. Furthermore, speakers emphasized the necessity of performing pre-transfusion crossmatching and compatibility testing, as well as screening for infectious diseases, to prevent adverse transfusion reactions and ensure patient safety.
