In implementation of the curriculum prepared by the Deanship of the College of Education at our university, the Department of Quranic Sciences and Hadith, in cooperation with the Department of University Psychological Counseling and the Women's Empowerment Unit, held a scientific symposium titled 'Quranic Rhetoric and Its Relationship to Inimitability'. The event took place at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 3, 2025, with the participation of:
1. Assistant Lecturer Qutaiba Adnan Shaker – Chair
2. Assistant Professor Muslim Shaker Jabr – Lecturer
3. Assistant Lecturer Zainab Atheer Hamza – Rapporteur
The symposium covered several key themes, most notably:
1. Is the inimitability of the Quran limited to the Arabic tongue?
2. Why is rhetorical (rhetorical-stylistic) inimitability emphasized?
3. What are the most important types of inimitability?
4. The significance of rhetorical inimitability.
5. Its role in highlighting the greatness of the Quran and its impact on hearts and minds.
6. The relationship between rhetoric and Quranic inimitability as the 'guiding lamp'.
7. How do we perceive the inimitability of the Quran? Where does it lie, and what are its means?
8. The aspects in which rhetoric manifests: Quranic examples and textual evidence.
Quranic examples highlighting rhetoric in Quranic expression and imagery were reviewed.

The lecture concluded with a message addressed to those seeking to contemplate the Quran and understand its beauty and secrets. The lecturer explained that achieving this requires two pillars:
First Pillar: Mastery of the linguistic sciences—namely, Arabic eloquence—which can only be achieved by mastering the Arabic language and delving deeply into its meanings and nuances.
Second Pillar: Understanding the contexts of Quranic texts by knowing the environment in which the Quran was revealed and contemplating the Word of God.
The lecture was a valuable opportunity to understand the greatness of Quranic rhetoric and its connection to divine inimitability, contributing to enhancing awareness of the beauty of the Quranic text and its profound impact.
