In implementation of the curriculum approved by the Dean's Office of the College of Health and Medical Technologies at our university, the Department of Anesthesia Technologies—in cooperation with the Departments of University Guidance and Student Activities—organized a scientific seminar titled "Pharmacological Management of Postoperative Pain" at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The seminar addressed mild analgesics, such as paracetamol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as opioid analgesics like morphine and fentanyl for severe pain management, emphasizing careful monitoring of side effects. It also covered local anesthesia via nerve blocks or epidural anesthesia to reduce opioid dependency, along with adjuvant medications such as gabapentin and pregabalin to alleviate postoperative neuropathic pain. Finally, the seminar highlighted the multimodal approach, which combines multiple medications or techniques to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes while minimizing complications.
