In implementation of the programme prepared by the Deanship of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counselling Unit and the Student Activities Unit, organised a scientific seminar entitled “Raising Awareness of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV/AIDS) and Its Prevention: General Knowledge to Protect Lives” at 12:00 noon on Saturday, 6 December 2025.

The seminar aimed to explain the difference between human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), review the mechanisms of viral transmission and the ways in which it spreads, and explain how the virus evades detection by the immune system and hides within the body. It also addressed preventive measures and ways to reduce the risk of infection.
