In a move to strengthen cooperation between our university and other universities, Assistant Professor Dr Muslim Shakir Jabr, Head of the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, delivered a scientific lecture entitled “The Divine Origin of the Holy Quran and the Integrity of Its Text: A Reading of the Book Al-Naba’ Al-Azim.” The lecture was organised by the Department of Linguistic Quranic Studies at the Islamic University in the holy city of Najaf.
The speaker highlighted the logical and historical argument presented by Dr. Mustafa Sadiq Al-Rafi‘i in his examination of the origins of the Holy Quran, addressing perspectives from both Muslim scholars and Orientalists. He emphasised that the Holy Quran has no human source and is not the work of any human being, noting that attempts to attribute the Quran to human authorship have proved unable to account for its nature and characteristics.
