In the first lecture, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr Hassan Rahim Khudr, spoke about “The Role of Students in Promoting Social Values in Society.” He emphasised the vital and central role students play through active participation in voluntary work, promoting a culture of dialogue and tolerance, and demonstrating social responsibility by helping those in need and raising public awareness. He also highlighted the importance of using technology and social media to build bridges of communication and raise awareness of community issues. These efforts transform students into key contributors to responsible citizenship and positive change, helping build a cohesive and progressive society.
The second lecture was delivered by Educational and Sports Major Shamkhi Jabbar Al-Sharifi, Director of Sports and Scout Activities at the General Directorate of Education in the Governorate. He emphasised that sports play, and continue to play, a central role in promoting social values by instilling cooperation, respect, discipline, tolerance, and citizenship through teamwork and fair competition. Sports also help break down social barriers, build strong friendships, and strengthen a shared identity, ultimately contributing to a more cohesive and peaceful society, fostering mutual understanding among individuals, and reducing international tensions.
