The respected Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Mudhar Abdullah Al-Dalimi, met with the respected President of the General Union of Writers in the province, Prof. Dr. Aziz Hussein Al-Musawi.
During the meeting, prospects for shared cooperation between the university and the union were discussed, including the establishment of various literary and cultural activities and events, the organization of preparation and qualification courses for university students in the various fields of writing, as well as the establishment of the first competition for young poets in the province, and an appreciation and honor for the humanitarian and creative journey of our great poet Yahya Al-Samawi whose name was given to this competition, for which a preparatory committee will be formed to receive the activities. Another arbitration committee will sort out the poems nominated for participation, and choose the best ones to win the prizes for the competition.
Al-Moussawi praised the university's directions and its relentless endeavor to extend cooperation with the governorate's institutions and departments.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Media and Public Relations at the University, Prof. Dr. Ghanem Najeeb Abbas.
