A scientific seminar entitled “The Threat of Terrorist Organizations and Their Impact on the Regional Situation” was held on the morning of Monday, March 9, 2026.
The session was chaired by Lect. Dr. Basim Hassan Khudr, while Asst. Lecturer Rawan Ali served as the session rapporteur. The seminar lecture was delivered by Lect. Dr. Younis Shuaiel Ajil.
The seminar began with an introduction addressing the growing phenomenon of terrorist organizations in recent years and the serious threat they pose to the security and stability of states, as well as their profound effects on social peace and the regional order. The seminar also highlighted the nature of these organizations and their methods of undermining security and spreading violence and extremism.
The seminar aimed to explain the security, political, and legal risks resulting from the activities of terrorist organizations, and to examine their impact on regional stability and relations among states. It also addressed the role of national legislation and international cooperation in confronting this phenomenon and limiting its consequences.
The seminar concluded with several key findings, most notably the need to strengthen joint efforts among states to combat terrorism and develop legal and security frameworks that contribute to confronting terrorist organizations. It also emphasized the importance of raising public awareness of the dangers of extremist ideology, given its essential role in safeguarding security and stability at both the national and regional levels.
