Assist. Prof. Dr. Hassan Rahim Khaddar, Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, delivered an educational lecture titled "The Role of Students in Countering Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism." The lecture took place during his meeting with the organizing committee of the late Ibrahim Rahma Football Championship at 9:00 AM on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
During the session, he emphasized the importance of utilizing symbolic designs that foster awareness in combating violent extremism across all university and student activities. He also highlighted the need to create media campaigns—including posters, videos, and social media content—that creatively, ethically, and innovatively demonstrate a shared commitment to countering hate speech and violent extremism conducive to terrorism.
Furthermore, he stressed that education serves as one of the key pathways to effectively confront the phenomenon of extremism and intellectual terrorism affecting many societies. This can be achieved by reviewing educational curricula and courses to shape the minds of youth and immunize them against extremist ideas, noting that quality education dries up the fertile ground exploited by extremist groups.
The lecture was attended by Tarar Ajami, Head of the Student Activities Unit at the college, who also contributed comments and remarks during the discussion.
