The seminar addressed ultraviolet (UV) radiation and underscored the importance of understanding the acute and chronic risks associated with direct exposure. harmful UV rays can cause sunburn, premature skin aging, and an increased risk of skin cancers, such as melanoma and basal cell carcinoma. Furthermore, excessive exposure can induce DNA damage, immunosuppression, and skin photosensitivity; however, moderate UV exposure remains essential for cutaneous synthesis of vitamin D.
