The workshop addressed biogas as a clean energy source generated through the conversion of organic waste (such as agricultural, animal, and domestic waste) via anaerobic digestion in specialized digesters. Microorganisms drive this oxygen-free biological process, producing methane gas that can be utilized for cooking, heating, and electricity generation, alongside a nutrient-rich organic digestate residual. Furthermore, the presentation detailed the operational mechanics of waste-to-biogas conversion, starting from waste collection and sorting to anaerobic breakdown within sealed digester systems.
