The workshop addressed several important topics, including the latest global approaches and technologies for achieving breakthroughs in the diagnosis and understanding of genetic disorders. It particularly discussed the mechanisms involved in targeting and removing the third copy of chromosome 21 in cells from patients with Down syndrome under laboratory conditions, highlighting the potential applications of CRISPR-Cas9 technology in genetic research and diagnosis.
