On the occasion of the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism, the Department of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning at the College of Engineering Technology, in cooperation with the Community Police Directorate of the Provincial Police Command and the University Psychological Counseling and Student Activities Departments, held an educational seminar entitled “How Can We Counter Extremism and Terrorism?” at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

The seminar addressed ways to counter extremism and terrorism, emphasizing the importance of preventing individuals from turning to extremist and terrorist ideologies, denying extremists opportunities to communicate with sympathizers, and working with those who may be vulnerable to extremist influence to help guide them toward sound judgment and positive behavior.
It also highlighted the importance of criminalizing the provision of support, resources, and means to individuals suspected of involvement in terrorism, particularly when such assistance is intended to organize their activities, recruit new members, prepare for attacks, or carry out attacks against designated targets.
