Under the patronage of Dr. Mudhir Al-Dhalimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Aqeel Sarhan, President of Sawa University, the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education organized a seminar entitled:
“The Impact of the Arabic Language on Building the University Student’s Personality”
The seminar was held on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
The seminar was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Najwan Talib Hussein.

The lecturer highlighted the importance of the Arabic language and its role in shaping the university student’s personality through the following dimensions:
First: Identity and Cultural Belonging
The Arabic language strengthens students’ sense of belonging to their history and civilization. It represents the language of heritage and the Holy Qur’an and enables students to engage with the works of scholars and literary figures throughout history. This connection helps develop a personality that is confident in its roots, proud of its identity, and capable of interacting with others without losing its cultural identity.
Second: Knowledge and the Development of Thinking
Arabic is characterized by its rich semantic structure and precise grammatical system, which contribute to developing students’ skills in analysis, inference, and comparison. Engaging with Arabic texts, particularly Qur’anic and literary texts, trains the mind to achieve deeper understanding and enhances critical and logical thinking.
Third: Values and Ethics
The Arabic language conveys noble values derived from religious and literary texts, contributing to instilling principles of respect, honesty, and constructive dialogue. A student who possesses strong command of the language is better able to communicate politely and persuade others through sound reasoning, which positively influences academic and social behavior.
Fourth: Communication and Professional Development
Mastering Arabic provides students with strong oral presentation and academic writing skills, enhancing their presence and effectiveness in the classroom and preparing them for effective communication in their future professional lives.
