Under the patronage of Dr. Mudhir Abdullah Al-Dhalimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Sarhan, President of Sawa University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Rahim Khudr, Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a scientific seminar entitled:

“Regional Anesthesia: Brachial Plexus Block.”

The seminar was held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2026.

The seminar addressed the following topics:

Regional anesthesia and its advantages compared with general anesthesia.
Ultrasound-guided brachial plexus block and its practical applications.
The types of surgical procedures that can be performed under brachial plexus block.
The potential complications of brachial plexus block, along with methods of prevention and appropriate management.
Promoting community awareness of regional anesthesia to encourage its appropriate use and reduce the number of procedures performed under general anesthesia, thereby minimizing the associated complications and side effects.
